Will your current iPhone or iPad run iOS 13 and iPadOS?

A list of devices that will receive the iOS 13 update:

  • iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max
  • iPhone XR
  • iPhone X
  • iPhone 8 and 8 Plus
  • iPhone 7 and 7 Plus
  • iPhone 6S and 6S Plus
  • iPhone SE
  • iPod touch 7th-generation

Unfortunately if you have an iPhone 6S or anything older then you won’t receive iOS 13 update. This means that the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, and iPhone 5s will remain on iOS 12. If you currently have the newly released 7th Generation iPod Touch then you should receive the update, however anything older than this model would not receive it.

A list of devices that will receive the iPadOS update:

  • 12.9-inch iPad Pro
  • 11-inch iPad Pro
  • 10.5-inch iPad Pro
  • 9.7-inch iPad Pro
  • iPad (6th-generation)
  • iPad (5th-generation)
  • iPad mini (5th-generation)
  • iPad mini 4
  • iPad Air (3rd-generation)
  • iPad Air 2

This means that if you currently have the iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3, or the iPad Air then you won’t receive the iPadOS update.

Apple and Google outline new GDPR privacy features

Apple will be bringing refreshed privacy controls for its devices and iCloud services in May with its launch of iOS 11.3, ahead of the new European data privacy laws.

The refresh of privacy settings will include a new web page for managing Apple IDs, with new features and capabilities, and more transparency.

The iPhone maker said it will update its web page for managing Apple IDs in coming months to let users download a copy of all their data stored with the company.

Here’s how to disable Emergency SOS on iPhone and Apple Watch

Apple’s iOS 11 includes a great SOS feature for when you feel unsafe in an emergency, but you may want to disable the feature on your iPhone or Apple Watch to avoid accidentally calling 999.

When Apple released iOS 11, it included a feature called Emergency SOS on iPhone and Apple Watch. It enables users to automatically call for help and alert contacts in the event of an emergency. If you hold down the iPhone’s side button and volume button long enough, emergency services will be contacted.
